Patrick Louden

Mr. Patrick Louden (Pat) is a multiple award winning former Federal Senior Executive with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) who provided extensive leadership and guidance to hundreds of nuclear professionals involving safety and security regulations for both power reactor facilities and non-reactor licensees throughout the mid-west region of the U.S.  He provided leadership to a staff of over 100 multi-disciplined nuclear professionals ensuring completion of regulatory oversight functions for 23 nuclear power plants and over 1,100 non-reactor license holders.

In addition, Mr. Louden provided expert insights and assessments of organizational structures and their delivery of management functions to determine the level of each entity’s operational effectiveness.  Based on assessments completed, he assisted organizations in defining specific strategies that could improve their organizational effectiveness related to their assigned mission roles and responsibilities.  Pat served as a lead “change catalyst” assisting entities during the formulation and implementation of new actions incorporated into multiple diverse improvement programs and initiatives.

Mr. Louden served as a lead executive in the preparation and final development of the NRC process to define a strategic workforce planning program structure and was a principal developer and implementer of the commission’s leadership model framework.  He also spearheaded a groundbreaking initiative to develop supervisor coaching programs integrating coaching qualities into leadership development programs and competency requirements.  Pat was highly sought after by numerous NRC offices and other agencies to conduct in depth organizational cultural assessments to identify root issues and themes, and then assist these organizations to develop action plans to ensure sustained desired improvements.
Following his accomplished 33 plus year government career, Mr. Louden founded Louden Coaching and Consulting, Inc., which provides high quality leadership coaching and organizational consulting to help professionals and organizations resolve complex business challenges.  Pat is an innovative results-driven executive with extensive experience working with professionals at all levels to develop their leadership skills and establish growth plans for their professional future.  He has a unique ability to foster acceptance of the importance of individual changes to foster measurable organizational improvements.  He is a certified coach with the International Coaching Federation offering a full suite of methods to improve individuals’ knowledge and capabilities for the areas of leadership, conflict resolution, career planning, and executive competencies.

Mr. Louden currently resides in the Palm Springs, CA area with his wife Crystal.  Pat is an avid cyclist and accomplished guitarist.
