Daniel Zacapa

Daniel Zacapa serves Global Learning and Leadership as a director and as a senior advisor providing a unique ability through his highly engaging manner of interaction with children to encourage and foster stronger positive feelings about their abilities as students. They gain the confidence to communicate effectively with their peers and adults. His warm style of interaction results in frequent smiles, a sparkle in each child’s eyes, stronger feelings of self-worth and an increased willingness to attempt what previously they would have considered as very difficult STEM activities. Participants becomes less concerned about how they sound or are perceived for their ideas shared with peers or adults.
Daniel Zacapa is an award winning American actor born in Honduras. He has established himself as one of the most well-known character actors working consistently in both films and TV during the past 41 years. His varied film roles include Se7en, Up Close and Personal, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, The ‘Mexican, The Gene Generation, Phenomenon, Tequila Sunrise, and The Odd Couple II sharing the screen with such actors as Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, Forest Whitaker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell and Mel Gibson to name just a few. He is the right one to answer ‘How STEM’ is constantly used in the film industry.
Mr. Zacapa’s television credits include starring for three seasons on the highly acclaimed Showtime series, 'Resurrection Blvd.' as Tio Ruben, the heart and soul of the Santiago family. His numerous guest-star appearances include Knots Landing, Jag, The Closer, Medium, Alias, Nip/tuck, West Wing, Criminal Minds, Without a Trace, Six Feet Under, The River, N.Y.P.D. Blue and Chicago Fire. Daniel was a recipient of an ALMA Award in 1998 for his work in “Foto Novelas’.
His passionate work with children include the Foundation for Youth Non-Violence in Northern California and Woodcraft Rangers in the L.A. area. He reads regularly in elementary schools to provide real meaning to the words and to foster positive interaction with children. Daniel has received numerous awards from the State of California and the City of Los Angeles recognizing him as a pillar of the Latino community. He is known within the film and TV industry for his dedication to offer assistance by working with children in communities impacted by a lack of equal education opportunities. He often volunteers to read to classes in elementary schools in the areas where he is working. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian which has proven to be a tremendous asset for interactions with children and their families that attend his sessions. Mr. Zacapa is an avid motorcyclist, major San Francisco Giants fan (if you know the significance of the numbers 24 and 44, you now have the combination to his safe). Daniel was formerly a professional baseball player with the San Francisco Giants. He is the owner and partner of The Alabama Coach Co. in Montevello, Alabama (where the strip steak is named "The Zacapa").
Daniel Zacapa resides in Eagle Point Oregon with his three cats, Jay, Cody, and Liberty. He is the proud father of two beautiful daughters.
